S.S.S.LEAGUE TABLE ON HOLD

Being as one of our games had to be called off due to sickness the, table will be updated as soon as the game is played, hopefully by monday morning, the captains will meet to discuss the learning points.

EAT FOR G-D, SLEEP FOR G-D, REST FOR G-D

So many things we get up to in our day to day lives, eating, sleeping and relaxing, we never really put to much thought into, we go through the motions when we feel our bodies calling, sometimes enjoyable, sometimes just habitual, but never usually deep and spiritually fulfilling.

Beleive it or not, introducing an element of awareness and a slight change of attitude, we can transform mundane activities such as these, into G-dly experiences that can uplift our spiritual status, and draw down countless G-dly blessings, one of this weeks torah portions behar tells us how.

The jewish famer living in the land of israel, after working his land for six years, is commanded to take a break, the entire seventh year the land is to be left barren and the farmer is to dedicate his time to study, the verse also writes (as explained by rashi ) that this entire practice is to be done in the name of G-d.

Apparently, when it comes to farming land, this practice is very beneficial, it allows the soil's nutrients to rejuvinate and does wonders for the crop of the following year, nevertheless the Torah tells the farmer that his intentions must be G-dly.

In our daily eating and sleeping, there are obvoius physical benefits, our mission is to introduce a spiritual twist, we eat, sleep and drink to give us life and energy, but consciously knowing that the life and energy is to give us strength in fulfilling the mitzvos, will put us in touch with our higher consciousness and ultimately draw down the promised heavenly blessings.

Wishing you all a great shabbos, as shabbos is the mini version of the shemittah year, lets keep in mind what the resting is about, and start the new week with our spiritual nutrients rejuvinated.
