In the spirit of learnin' hard playin' hard, the TA Shluchim, in conjunction with the chabad house have put together an incredible launch, for the chabad house's Chassidic answer to the well known bible quiz, because we are runnin off to supper, we will post details of the chabad house program shortly, trust me when i say i haven't seen a better deal.

Here is the plan for the yud alef nissan preperation program:

from your booklet, learn the first perek of tanya(not by heart) and the four pages of the Rebbe's biography, just learn it well as by for any other school test, on wednesday the 5th of april there will be a written test, the pass mark is as follows; grade 7 and 8 60% grade 9 and up 65%.
In order to help with the learning, there will be a shiur at 7:00 am, 3 times from now until the test.

2 next monday
3 the wednesday after that.

The incentive
obviously as human beings it helps to intice our physical sides a lil bit so.....on thursday april the sixth, from after davening there will be no school, instead all those who acheived the pass mark, will head off, to ellis park stadium for a day of s.s.s. playoffs, followed by a braii, all teams will participate, so this may be your chance to turn the tables and show the world how things should have been.



IT WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE IF EVERYONE IN THE HIGH SCHOOLWOULD BE INVOLVED IN THIS PROGRAM, IF ANYBODY THINKS THEY CAN'T, COME HAVE A CHAT WITH DOVID OR LAZER.

P.S.V. Vs FRESSERS MATCH REPORT

It promised to be the greatest game of the season. The rain was not going to ruin it, the field was very wet and slippery, and yet both teams were on top form.
The first half was dominated by the fressers midfield, a great shot from gidi orelowitz(fressers) brought the best out of goalkeeper eitan glassman getting fingertips and pushing the ball over the bar.
Chances were few for p.s.v. but a great through ball by shachar basserglick to shaul yachad almost led to the first ball of the game, the ball just slipping wide.
The first half ended goalless, whatever the fressers players talked about during half time, it must have worked, they came out firing, they had a few chances but none were converted.
The first ten minutes were fought out in the middle with both teams giving it there best, then the balled rolled to eitan glassman in goal he wasted no time to throw it to aaron masinter, the p.s.v. central defender, he lobbed the ball over reuven garber (fressers) as alon glassman (p.s.v. captain) was running down the right hand side, a touch of class by the p.s.v captain scored the only goal of the game, a great strike with his left foot, and there was not much fressers keeper yinon falkson could do about it, fressers fought hard for an equalizer and with two minutes left shachar basserglick brought down reuvengarber just outside the box, reuven opted to take the free kick himself, the ball just didn't curl enough, missing the right post by a foot or so.
The game ended 1-0 to p.s.v. they now stretched their lead to 5 points over fressers, a truly excellent game.

this is how the learning is done, zalmy followed this up with two stunning goals for moshiach.

Of tomorrows game fixtures, it looks like the most crucial match up could mean the win for the first round of the TA S.S.S. league, both teams look poised and ready for this crucial game, but as we saw last week predictability is the only thing we can be certain we won't have, the contending team Fressers have the power but can they match the impressive stamina of table leaders P.S.V. keep in mind that the learning is crucial and both teams, are great on the sicha. it looks like the rest of the table teams are lookin for a draw, to keep the table open somewhat.

below you will see some, flashbacks from our yud shevat program, enjoyed by all, as well as the special program on the day of yud shevat, in which all were involved, we also had the 10 day preperation booklet which over 40 boys participated in, and yossi laz walked away with a well deserved ipod for his efforts, and we all gained from the knowledge and thought provoking information that the daily read provided for us.

As most of you probably know coming up very shortly, is yud alef nissan, a crucial day in the chassidic calendar, the date of the Rebbe's birthday, out of commitment to the Rebbe and all that he has given us, our preperation for this date, as a gift to the rebbe, must be a preperation that challanges us and stretches us in every aspect of chassidic growth.

So guys watch this space for the details of an unbeleivable program, of epic proportion's, the preperation will be above and beyond, as will the incentive's.

well we are already way into our long weekend, a well deserved rest for most of us, a time to perhaps catch up a little, maybe reflect on the past few months of school, examine our behaviour and acheivements, an island of serenity that gives us a moment to relax, take a deep breath and have a good look at our lives, our relationships with our fellow students and teachers, are they all we want them to be, or could there be a little improvement, is there any way i could make the life of someone else a little easier just by cracking a bad habit, or by thinking a little before speaking. Guys let's maximize the this small break, and let's make sure that when we return to the hecticness of the high school classrooms we are bigger and better people.
